that's 2 ees, y'all!

Best basketball game I ever saw, or will see, was NC State in Triple OT to win ACC Championship against Maryland in Greensboro to advance to NCAAs (game that changed the rule re only 1 admittee from a conference) where they went on to win the Championship (and beat UCLA and some lanky red-headed deadhead in the semis).

GO PACK!

Summerfield, NC. .... SALUTE!

like the say, it ain't the heat.....

if we could use biomass from kudzu....

You can blame the missing "e" on the NC Public School System...

GO PACK is right!!!
My alma mater and hopefully back on the right track in basketball (football too, for that matter).

I remeber that NCSU/Maryland game. Probably one of the best NCAA basketball games ever - at least until that one played in Albequerque sometime around 1983!

Kudzu... if only you could use it for fuel NC would be the richest state in the Union. (Still haven't gotten over that "War of Northern Aggression")
Lately the bamboo has been on the rize - it seems to be just as tough.

North Cacalacky - NASCAR, moonshine, bluegrass, and BBQ!!!

so my brother-in-law went to state for football during the micheals and holtz years with one of my biggest memory of the time being shooting hoops with david thompson, monty towe, burelson, among others...

coke or not, david thompson was a b-ball god!!!

and after four years in raleigh he spent the next decade plus teaching/coaching in the north brunswick school district outside of wilmington...btw: in b-ball they would go up against a guy called jordon or something like that...:-)

That's the team! I went to NC State b-ball camp in those days (Norm Sloan) and Duke (Bill Foster) as well. Had Monte Towe as counsellor - who is now back on bench as asst to Sidney Lowe.

Carter Finley stadium - hasn't changed too much.

Remember when there was "Duke's Bill Foster" and "Clemson's Bill Foster"?

Yep.

Clemson - you know why their fans always wear orange?

To go to the game on Saturday, hunting on Sunday, and back to road crew on Monday through Friday.

Best hit I ever saw in a football game was Woody Hayes against a Clemson player....

funny, we might have attended the same camp...

I always liked norm sloan, he was really nice to me...(though he couldn't due magic tricks like holtz but on the positive side he never became a domer)

I was fortunate to spend summers in raleigh during those years and would only get down for a football game or two in the fall...usually against duke either home or away...

I have some good memories of the campus, carter-finley and reynolds coliseum...

monte towe, must be one of the only players to get signed based on another player (i.e., thompson) the way he did...

Hey, I was in the Brickyard that night in 1983. REM opened for The English Beat for second night in row at Page over at Duke. Went first night and left after REM set second night to be in Raleigh with friends and family. My mom and her dad both went to state. My mom actually graduated from Broughton High in Raleigh. As I've mentioned before, in my office is not only the Jerry Playbill from the Lunt-Fontane, but a pic of DT scoring over Len Elmore in that game and two DT autographs. Still my all time favorite player.
